NMBI Annual Renewal Window Open To 31 January 2026

NMBI has published its Christmas and New Year opening hours for registrants who need help completing annual registration renewal, while reminding nurses and midwives that the 2026 renewal window is open until 31 January 2026.

According to NMBI, almost 37,000 nurses and midwives had already renewed as of December 17th. For anyone who has not yet completed renewal, NMBI advises logging in to MyNMBI “as soon as possible” to avoid peak demand later in the renewal period.

NMBI says registrants experiencing difficulty logging in or renewing online can contact its customer care team by phone on 0818 200 116 (or +353 818 200 116 from outside Ireland) or by email at regservices@nmbi.ie. It also asks registrants to include their name, PIN number, and date of birth when making contact to help staff deal with queries efficiently.

NMBI published the following opening hours for assistance during the period:

NMBI states that the annual renewal process must be completed through MyNMBI portal, and it cannot accept annual renewal payments by phone.

The NMBI portal was recently upgraded and may look different, but the renewal process is the same and “will only take a few minutes” to complete according to NMBI. NMBI advises users will be required to change their passwords, but usernames will remain same in order to access accounts.

Voluntary Removal

For registrants who do not intend to remain on the Register, NMBI says you can voluntarily remove your name from the Register on MyNMBI, free of charge until 31 January 2026. It recommends voluntary removal rather than letting registration lapse, to avoid higher restoration fees later.
